3 Reasons Why Many Aren't Doing As Well As They'd Like to with Their Money

The last almost four years I have had the privilege of going around and meeting with many different families and groups of people and showing them how money really works. I mean, we've all been taught in school the subjects of Math, English and Science, etc., but most of us really haven't been given any course on
Personal Finances or Money 101. We are all taught Algebra (no offense to Algebra), but many of us are not really using it later in life. We all use money on a daily basis, however, most of us are never even taught about it in school. In the following video, based on my experience of meeting many people over the years, I have boiled it down to three main reasons why many people are not doing as well as they'd like to with their money.

I hope you enjoy and please leave me your comments below!

Your Dream Begins Today
Written by Les Brown

What will your life be like when you’ve achieved your most deeply held dreams? Let’s take a look at how you can start living your dreams this very day.

Do you have a dream, a vision of the life you wish to live?
How specific is that dream?
How clear is that vision?
How do you intend to reach it?
What obstacles stand in your way?
Are your fears holding you back or are you using them to move you forward?

Your fears can actually lead you to success. Fear is an intense emotion. But that doesn’t mean it has to control you, or even stop you. Fear can prepare you and push you forward just as strongly as it can hold you back. Fear heightens your awareness and increases your physical strength. Fear brings your mind to sharp focus. With all that going for you, does it make sense to just run and hide? Of course not. Fear gets you in shape to take action!

Are you waiting for things to get better before moving ahead? If you’re serious about success, you need to start taking action today. If you’re waiting for things to be perfect, you’ll wait forever and nothing will ever get done.

The way to achieve is to bloom where you’re planted, to do what you can, where you are, with what you have. It’s easy to think up excuses for not taking action. “If only I had more hours in the day. If only I had a better job. If only I could meet the right person.” But excuses won’t bring you anything of value. You’ve got to change your “if only” into an “I will.” “I will make better use of my time. I will work on improving my career. I will create and nurture my relationships.”

Take a chance. Have faith in yourself. Your circumstances will improve when you make the effort to improve them. Start where you are right now. You have everything it takes to reach for whatever you desire. Stop wishing. Use your time, your energy, your thoughts and efforts to make it happen! You’ll be glad you did!

30 Year Mortgage vs. 15 Year Mortgage - The Full Story

I'm sure a lot of people would love to enjoy the great feeling of being debt free and having their house fully paid off much earlier by getting a 15 year mortgage as opposed to getting a 30 year mortgage. Sure, having your home paid off earlier is a better decision emotionally. But have you ever made an
"apples to apples" comparison between the two with actual numbers to see which one is a better decision financially? If not, don't worry, because I've already done it and you can view my conclusions in the following video.

I created the video several years ago as an invitation to a financial workshop that my team was hosting and the audio is not the greatest, however, it has some great information.

I hope you enjoy and please leave me your comments below!

The Key to Influencing Others
Written by Brian Tracy

Do nice things for others. One of the best ways to influence someone is to do something nice for him. I know many successful salespeople who make a habit of taking their prospects out to breakfast or lunch. During the breakfast or lunch, they do not talk about their products or services unless the client brings it up.
They merely make small talk, ask questions and listen. They work on building trust, and they work on establishing a friendly relationship. At the end of the breakfast or lunch, they tell the prospect that they will be getting in touch with him sometime in the future with the possibility of talking to him about helping him in some way.

See them as friends and partners. The best salespeople and businesspeople in America today are those who look upon their customers and prospective customers as friends and partners. They always look for ways to help their partners improve their lives in ways that are not directly related to the products or services they sell. They sow seeds, and they reap a harvest. They trigger a desire in people to reciprocate. When the time comes for those salespeople to approach their prospects with the possibility of buying their products or services, the prospects are wide open to the questions and inputs of the salespeople. The prospects have a deep-down desire to reciprocate.

Send thank-you notes. One of the best ways to use this principle in your interactions is to continually look for ways to say and do positive things for people. Look for ways to do kind acts and favors for your friends and prospects. Send thank-you notes. Send birthday cards. Send clippings from newspapers about subjects that you feel may be of interest to them. Always keep your promises, and follow up on your commitments. Always do what you say you will do. Do everything possible to put in, knowing confidently that you will ultimately be able to get out far more. You will reap if you sow.

Be a go-giver rather than a go-getter. Someone has observed that no one ever built a statue to a person to acknowledge what he or she got out of life. Statues are built only to people to acknowledge what they gave. The most powerful, influential and successful people you will ever meet always look for ways to do nice things for others. When you meet someone under almost any circumstance, one of the best questions you can ask is this: “Is there anything that I can do for you?” Always look for ways to put in rather than to take out. The successful man or woman of today is a “go-giver” as well as a go-getter.

Be open and empathetic. The more that people feel that you are open and empathetic and sensitive to their needs and concerns, the more open they will be to your influencing them positively in some way. And the more you can influence others with the power and impact of your personality, the more you will accomplish, and the faster you will accomplish it—the more rapidly you will move toward the great success that you desire and deserve.
